Check engine light

Find out what the light really means.

A code is a starting point, not an answer. We test until we know the cause, then explain it in plain words with a price to fix it.

How a diagnosis works.

01

Read the codes

We scan every module, not just the engine, and note any stored history.

02

Test the cause

Smoke tests, live data and component checks until we find the real fault.

03

Explain and quote

A written report with photos and a price. The $129 fee comes off the repair.

Questions

Check engine questions.

Can’t I just get the code read for free?

A parts store can read the code, but a code names a symptom, not the cause. Testing is what stops you buying parts you don’t need.

Is it safe to keep driving?

If the light is steady, usually for a short while. If it flashes, the engine is misfiring: slow down and call us.

How long does a diagnosis take?

Most are finished within two hours. Intermittent faults can take longer, and we tell you before going past the quote.

Will the light come back?

If we fix the cause, it should not. Every repair comes with our 3-year warranty.
