Brakes

Brake repair you can see.

We measure every pad and rotor, text you the photos with the numbers on them, and quote the exact job before any wrench turns.

Signs it’s time

When to have your brakes checked.

Squeal or grind

A squeal is the wear indicator; grinding means metal on metal.

Soft pedal

A pedal that sinks often means air or a leak in the system.

Pulls to one side

A sticking caliper or uneven pads pull the car when you stop.

Warning light

Low fluid or a sensor fault. Worth a free check either way.

Brake jobs and prices

What you receive

The numbers, not just “you need brakes”.

New pads are about 10 mm thick and we replace them at 3 mm. You get the measurement for each wheel, so you decide whether it is today’s job or next season’s.

They sent a photo of each pad with a gauge on it. Front was at 2 mm, back at 7. Did the front, left the back. Exactly what they quoted.

Questions

Brake questions.

Do I always need new rotors?

No. If your rotors are above the minimum thickness and not warped, we only replace the pads, and the photos show you why.

How long does a brake job take?

About an hour per axle for pads, two for pads and rotors. Most are back to you the same day.

Which pads do you use?

Ceramic pads that meet or beat the factory specification: quiet and low on dust. Performance pads on request.

Is the brake check really free?

Yes. It takes about 20 minutes and you get the measurements whether or not you book the work.
